Diet for Children
Child Nutritionist in Chennai
Children's eating habits can worry any parent - a toddler who eats only a few foods, a school-goer who skips breakfast, or a child gaining weight too quickly. Strict rules and force-feeding usually make it harder.
We work with parents, at our Perumbakkam clinic or online, to build simple, family-friendly eating habits that suit your child's age, routine and school timings.
Who This Is For

- School-going children who skip meals or rely on packaged snacks
- Children who are underweight or overweight for their age
- Children with conditions such as diabetes or allergies, alongside their doctor's care
- Teenagers who need guidance for sports, exams or healthy weight
Common Concerns We Help With
- Picky eating and mealtime battles
- Binge eating or constant snacking
- Childhood obesity or poor weight gain
- Hyperactivity and irregular eating patterns

Diet for Children: FAQs
Does my child need to attend the consultation?
It helps, especially for older children, but the parent is the key person. For anyone under 18, a parent or guardian books and joins.
Will my child be put on a diet?
No. For children we focus on healthy habits for the whole family, not restrictive diets.
My child only eats a few foods. Is that normal?
Picky eating is common in young children. We suggest gentle ways to widen the variety, and recommend checking with your paediatrician if you're worried about growth.
Can you help with school lunchboxes?
Yes. Lunchbox and snack planning is part of the plan, built around foods your child enjoys.
Do I have to pay separately for exercise or yoga?
No. Exercise and yoga guidance is part of your diet chart, not a separate service. It is planned from your assessment - your health condition, fitness, age and your doctor's advice - and comes at no extra cost.
